REVIEWS

Highly recommend the Mt Gainor in for a weekend away from it all. The room was decorated beautifully. The property is very clean and well maintained. So peaceful and quite! Definitely not an experience you can get in the city. Watching the sun set over the hillcountry from our room and relaxing under the stars in the hot tub really allowed my wife and I to relax.

We were looking for a socially distanced stay near Dripping Springs and this fit the bill perfectly. It's about a 15 drive from the town, located in charming Hill Country scenery. We enjoyed the Mt Laurel cottage, spacious and everything worked well. We had contactless check in and check out. Sitting on the hammock in the afternoon was a treat. Thanks for the enjoyable stay!

The host, Jerry, was wonderful, cheerful, very hospitable. The room was great. The drive up to the Mt. Gainor Inn was very scenic. The grounds and the views were peaceful and quiet. It had been a very long time since the wife and I had been able to get away from all the noise of regular every day life and enjoy the peaceful, calming, sounds of nothing but gentle breezes and birds singing. We enjoyed our stay and met some great folks. I hope, during your stay, the host serves the Crescent Roll French Toast with fresh fruit and all the fixings for breakfast, it'll be an unexpected surprise.

Located just a few minutes from Austin, Dripping Springs is the gateway to Texas Hill Country, home of beautiful natural areas, limestone bluffs, quiet springs, and spacious state parks.

Looking for great place to relax and enjoy scenic natural surroundings? Try Pedernales Falls State Park. Here, you can swim, canoe, or kayay in the Pedernales River. (Note that some areas of the river are prone to flash flooding, so check conditions ahead of time.)

Pedernales Falls State Park also has a number of great hiking and biking trails that range from easy to very challenging. And, if you're interested in horse riding, the park has ten miles of rugged trails. Note that you'll need to be an experienced rider to tackle these trails. And make sure your horse has shoes.

Another great place to explore near Dripping Springs is the Hamilton Pool Preserve. Part of Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, Hamilton Pool Preserve is a well-known swimming hole that has a 50 foot waterfall and large limestone outcroppings. The preserve is also home to numerous bird species and a number of rated plant species, such as the chatter box orchid.

The water level at Hamilton Pool Preserve can vary considerably, so it's a good idea to call ahead or check their website prior to visiting.
